◼ In the early days of Autumn, figs appear in grocery stores
and fruit markets; a lusciously sweet fruit and with a high water content; they
are the fruits of the end of summer season.
◼ When they are ready to eat, they are very delicate.
They are characterized by their dark red flesh and skin in dark green shades.
They must be washed well, since practically the skin is eaten too.
◼ For winter season we have dried figs which become a
rich source of minerals, especially in calcium, potassium and selenium.
