Mediterranean Savor: Tomato salad.

Tomato salad dressed with  extra virgin olive oil  and sea salt (to taste) is a typical summer dish of Mediterranean cuisine, easy to prepare, rich in water and antioxidants; furthermore,  tomato  stands out for its high content in potassium and vitamin C.

Tomato salad is always tempting in summer times. Sometimes, I add a couple cloves garlic, finely chopped or a pinch of oregano. Both garlic like oregano go well with tomato.

Another ingredient that also combines well with tomato is onion, sliced or chopped (as desired) and all dressed with extra virgin olive oil and sea salt (to taste).

An accompaniment for this salad is the cooked potato; so, you have a powerful dish and really delicious, suitable for any season:

  • Cut cooked potatoes in slices, not very thin so as not to be crumbled then, and place tomato salad over (only tomato/tomato with onion/tomato with garlic/tomato with  oregano ), previously dressing.
